Steve Burks is a seasoned senior executive with three decades of experience in the hospitality and multifamily industry. He has held key leadership roles, including his recent position as CEO of Solaris Development. Burks has also held leadership positions at prominent organizations such as Disney Development, Ritz-Carlton Development, and Marriott Vacations.

Beginning his career in Hilton Head Island, SC, Burks swiftly ascended to a pivotal role at Marriott Vacations. He later played a central role in launching the Disney Vacation at Disney Development, where he oversaw sales, development, recruitment, selection, and training. Notably, his strategic direction led to over $100 million in sales within the first year. Returning to Marriott, Burks contributed significantly to the company’s growth, driving annual sales to exceed $1 billion and introducing The Ritz-Carlton Destination Club to the portfolio.

While Burks and Dev Pathik both continue serving on the Sports Illustrated Board, Burks joined forces with Dev Pathik to address the pressing housing crisis. Their discussions highlighted the need for a market and community-based solution. This shared passion led to the creation of Urban Luxe Living, a venture aimed at bringing innovative housing solutions to the stakeholders of the housing crisis in their communities.
